Stablemates from Lux Radio Theater starring Wallace Beery and Mickey Rooney in their original roles. Mickey Rooney stars as a kid who works around the race track stables and ends up getting a broken down horse instead of pay. Wallace Beery is a drunken drifter who happens upon the stable where Rooney tends his horse. This is a heart warming story with great acting. The big race at the end is actually the entire 1938 $50,000 Hollywood Gold Cup race won by Seabiscuit. Lux aired this story on March 31, 1941.
