Sears Radio Theater was an anthology radio drama series which ran weeknightly on CBS Radio in 1979, sponsored by the Sears chain. Often paired with The CBS Radio Mystery Theater during its first season, the program offered a different genre of drama for each day's broadcast. This selection "Punishment and Crime" is a story of the old west hosted by Lorne Greene starring Parley Baer and Howard Culver. The story was writtrn by Percy Grainger and produced by Fletcher Markle.

Hollywood Theater of Stars was aired 1948-1951 over Mutual in an unusual daily time slot, 6:30, thirty minuets before prime time. It was billed as radio's greatest daytime dramatic program. The series was hosted by C.P McGregor showcasing the talents of famous Hollywood actors. The show was sponsored by La Rosa.

This episode of "The Powder Puff Kid" stars Robert Mitchum.

The Vulnerable Vixen - Walk Softly, Peter Troy

Walk Softly, Peter Troy is a detective drama produced in the Durban Studios of Herrick Merril Productions. It starred Tom Meehan, John Simpson, and Merle Wayne. In episode 4 "The Vulnerable Vixen" a machine-gun moll from Chicago invades London with a protection racket.

Builders On The River - American Adventure

Builders on the River from American Adventure aired August 11, 1955. Entertaining tales taken primarily from actual events that occurred in America's past. The shows were produced by the communications center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a lot of the tales are performed by the faculty, students, and townspeople from the University of North Carolina who do an outstanding job of acting. The scripts are written by John Eely, who also performs in the stories, and directed by John Clayton.

Alice In Wonderland taken from the novel written by English author Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. It tells the story of a girl named Alice who falls down a rabbit-hole into a fantasy world populated by peculiar and anthropomorphic creatures. This excellent radio production is one kids as well as adults are sure to enjoy!

NIGHTFALL - X Minus One

"Nightfall" is an influential science fiction short story by author Isaac Asimov, about the coming of darkness to the people of a planet ordinarily illuminated at all times on all sides.The story was adapted for radio on X Minus One, December 7, 1955. The script was used previously on "Dimension X" on September 29, 1951. The short story was first published in the September 1941 issue of Astounding Science Fiction magazine under editor John W. Campbell. It was the 32nd story by Asimov, written while he was working in his father's candy store and studying at Columbia University. According to Asimov's autobiography, Campbell asked Asimov to write the story after discussing with him a quotation from Ralph Waldo Emerson:


If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God!


Considered a classic of the genre, Nightfall has been anthologized no fewer than four dozen times.
